But first let me introduce myself. I am Paul Onwueme a independent home business owner and currently run two successful home businesses – a business plan consulting service – you can read more about my business plan consulting service on my blog which can be found here: www.lagosbusinesses .blogspot.com. The other business I run is an after-school program in Abuja. I have been running them both since 2014 and since then they have been generating good income for me.
I once had a job at an internet marketing agency from February 2012 to February 2014 where I held various positions from a web content producer before becoming social media and brand manager, the last position I held. I held before leaving the post.
While working there, I discovered that there were a lot of things I could do from home that would put a lot of money in my pocket. My research revealed over 150 ideas, but I stuck with two options: the business plan and the after-school program. Both of these home businesses require no more than 6 hours of productive time per day. In fact, there are times (during summer vacation, when schools are on vacation and I don’t have business plan jobs) I could go weeks without income while living comfortably. of my savings from my previous jobs during peak periods.

This has made some people in my neighborhood wonder why I seem to have more than enough but I still don’t work as hard as they do – in their opinion, working hard means waking up early, living to work and coming home late from work. work in the evening, feeling tired and stressed.
Even during times when I’m at home while others are away for work, I’m actually working on in-depth market research, product development, and reading, even though it’s my home rather than in an office environment. All of this is from elsewhere.
To justify this type of lifestyle, I would have to earn an income that will allow me to continue even in times of downturn where there is little or no favoritism. The secret is in how you manage your money during peak times when your income levels might rise – doesn’t that remind you of the Bible 7 Lean and 7 Fat in Egypt?
How much do I earn on average monthly to justify this kind of life? I’d rather not divulge it here, but it’s a very decent amount that I know for a fact that many people who work good corporate jobs wish they could earn and I’m not exaggerating that claim. What I earn now is over 3 times my monthly salary at my last job in 2014 and the salary we are talking about, even in 2017, is still higher than what many graduates employed in some corporate organizations report each month.
It all started in 2014 and I was lucky enough to get paid well to write business plans for people and even got a contract with a business plan consultancy in Dubai to write standard business plans and feasibility reports. My after school program has also been very rewarding. This is what I will disclose regarding my income and work experience from home.
After talking this way, you might be tempted to think that running a home business is a gold mine, easy to do, and doesn’t involve a lot of stress. This is not the case especially when you are just starting out. You have to be prepared to work, innovate, improve, and deliver the kind of value that will make anyone in their right mind believe you have what they are looking for and will happily pay you. Herein lies the difficulty of running a home business
